• Dear HHS Friends and Graduates:

Have you ever asked yourself, "How can I express my gratitude to Hillsdale Community Schools for the excellent education I received?"

The Hillsdale Community Schools Education Foundation Fund was established in 2001. The purpose of this fund, held by the Hillsdale County Community Foundation, is to provide financial support for enrichment programs. These projects are aimed at enhancing the quality of educational opportunities for students in grades K-12 at Hillsdale Community Schools. Mini-grants of up to $500.00 will be awarded to qualified applicants.

Our goal for our "Make a Miracle" Campaign is to raise $1 million in endowment funds to support educational programs. When we raise $1 million, we will have $50,000 annually to enhance and enrich programs and educational opportunities for students.

Foundation endowments are the future for helping to finance public schools. In researching this phenomenon, the committee has discovered that many states and many individual school districts, even in Michigan, have created endowments to ensure the future of their schools’ programs.

Students involved in fine arts and music programs, academic co-curricular activities (i.e., Business Professionals of America, Robotics, Envirothon, Science Olympics and Quiz Bowl), library media centers and technology programs can all benefit from HCSEF. We need these programs in order to maintain diversity and high standards within the curriculum. Hillsdale High School has been the recipient of North Central Association (NCA) Excellence in Education since 1909. The Davis Middle School (1995) and since (2001), all elementary schools have also been accredited. Support of the programs mentioned above is essential to maintain the historically high standards of the Hillsdale Schools.

We encourage you to give to our school system when making charitable contributions. Many thousands of alumni have

"Entered to Learn, and Gone Forth to Serve," having received a fine education from Hillsdale Community Schools. We thank you for your kind consideration.

    Sincerely,

    HHS Graduate Alumni
