Chromebook Program: (New) The chromebook program is off to a very good start.  At this point, the district has met the first round of requests for devices.  We are ready to expand the program further.  If you have students in your home who are sharing a device, we have more devices available.  Or, if there was a single student in your home who was using a family owned device, we may request to check out a Chromebook for that child.  Please contact your school’s designated Chromebook staff member.

  • Due to the nature of the programming provided at the preschool, Chromebooks are not being checked out through Bailey Early Childhood Center.

The Chromebook devices available for checkout are school district property.   The devices should function in your home in much the same way they would at a school building.  This means that not all websites or applications are available on this device.   The Chromebooks are not programmed to function as a personally owned device.  These devices are provided to students for use on school work.  Having said that, the internet and its users are constantly changing.  Unintended or unwanted content is a reality through virtually any device.  “Where there’s a will, there’s a way!”  Parents should and are expected to monitor their children’s use of any device connected to the internet, including the district’s Chromebook devices.  As a reminder, each school has a specific staff member (listed above) assigned to help you and solve issues that may arise with the devices.

Food Service Program:  (No Changes) Please call the “Take-out Meals Program” reservation hotline by 10:00 a.m. the day before the next service to ensure a proper count.  The phone number is 517-689-1406 or email to hcs.foodservice@hillsdaleschools.org
