Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Sandra Nussbaum

A little about me (as a teacher):
I have a BA in Elementary Education from Goshen College and I received a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois. I taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade in Illinois and Wisconsin for a total of 11 years.  I taught Reading Recovery for Hillsdale Schools for a total of 10 years.  I have been teaching the Ready Readers intervention program at Gier School since 2012.
A little about my family:
My husband, Mark teaches analytical chemistry at Hillsdale College.  I have a daughter who is a third grade teacher at Williamston Schools in Williamston, MI. I also have a daughter who is a nurse along with a son-in-law who is an arborist.  I get to spend time with my 2 granddaughters and grandson. One of my favorite activities to do with my grandchildren is to share books with them and listen to them read their favorite books to me.

A little about me:

I started kayaking the lakes and rivers of Michigan with my husband.  We also love to ride our 21 speed bikes on the old railroad bike trails in the Midwest.  When I have free time, I like to read historical fiction books, bake bread and cookies, and make meals for my family and friends.  I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and when they are not in Hillsdale, you can often catch me Zooming and reading my favorite children's books to them.
