READY READERS:
A leveled book bag program for students in the first grade who will benefit from reading "just right" books.
Each book bag consist of 5-10 leveled books that students take home and read throughout the week.
Mentor sheets are in each bag to guide the mentors with strategies that the student will be using for each book level.
Students meet weekly with a trained teacher who administers a Reading Progress Record from a chosen book that measures accuracy and self-correction rate.
The teacher then determines the next appropriate reading level for the student.
